Spotify Connect For Desktop App Submitted by dalevich on 2014-02-18 10:19 PM To add the Spotify Connect feature to the desktop application, so it's possible to remote control desktop Spotify from a phone. Spotify Connect will detect and enlist any device running Spotify with your account logged in. It will also find your paired speakers, such as Sonos. When none of the devices are currently available, Spotify Connect's list stays empty. But as soon as you open the web player for example, you'll see that in the device list right away. Plug your phone into the USB port or connect wirelessly. Then, on your iPhone, go to “Settings,” then “General,” then “CarPlay.” Select your car and get listening! Check out Spotify Everywhere to see if your car offers the Spotify app built into the dashboard. Just to note, some cars require Spotify Premium for integrated listening.
Use voice commands to control music and podcasts with Amazon Alexa!
Get started
Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps:
Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:
Note: Spotify wont work with other apps. You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.
Now just ask Alexa to play something! E.g. 'Alexa, play Discover Weekly'. Check out the Amazon help site for supported languages.
Supported devices
Amazon Echo, Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Echo Spot, Amazon Echo Show, Amazon Tap, Amazon Fire TV Cube, and all Sonos players.
